Polychrono — A Quiet Corner of Kassandra, Halkidiki
Polychrono is a small, calm resort on Kassandra with beautiful beaches, a relaxed promenade and good value accommodation. Perfect for families.

Polychrono is a small, relaxed coastal village on the eastern coast of the Kassandra peninsula in Halkidiki, situated between Pefkohori to the north and Hanioti to the south. It lacks the nightlife and tourist facilities of Hanioti, and that's precisely its appeal — a quiet, family-friendly resort with beautiful beaches, a pleasant promenade and excellent value accommodation.
The Beach
Polychrono's beach is a long, well-maintained stretch of sand with shallow, calm water — ideal for families with young children. Sun loungers and parasols are available for rent. The beach is clean (Blue Flag certified in recent years) and not as crowded as Hanioti to the south. Several seafood tavernas line the promenade directly behind the beach.
The Village
Polychrono village centre is compact and walkable. The main seafront promenade is lined with cafés, tavernas and a few shops. There is a small supermarket for self-catering supplies. The atmosphere is genuinely calm — this is not the place for late-night bars. It's the place for long breakfasts, afternoon swims and leisurely dinners watching the Aegean turn pink at sunset.
Getting Around
Having a car or scooter is recommended to explore the wider Kassandra peninsula. Hanioti is 3 km south (lively beach scene and evening entertainment), Pefkohori is 5 km north (similar calm atmosphere), and Sani resort with its marina is 20 km away. Thessaloniki is approximately 80 km — a manageable day trip.
Accommodation
Polychrono has a good selection of private apartments, studios and small family hotels. Prices are moderate — below those of Hanioti or Sani. Book directly with owners where possible for the best rates. Most accommodation has air conditioning (essential in August) and parking.
