Why Fanari?

Fanari is a small resort in Thrace, northeastern Greece, about 70 km east of Komotini and 250 km from Thessaloniki. Little known to Balkan tourists, with a long sandy beach and the atmosphere of completely undeveloped tourism. A Fanari holiday in 2026 is for travellers who want complete isolation and an authentic Greek coast without international tourism presence.

The character is rural and local. Fanari has around 500 residents, a fishing harbour, one main street with a couple of tavernas. In summer it mostly attracts Greek tourists from Thrace and Athens. It differs from popular northern destinations (Halkidiki, Olympic Riviera) in significantly lower tourist density.
